The OC, 90210 and Beverly Hills Cop are all shows/movies that have a common theme- Los Angeles, California. As hard as we tried, Katie, Paul and I didn’t bump into any television or movie stars but we were just as excited to meet current and potential users of Method. We were even able to create a short film of our own starring none other than Dante Layton, one of our newest Solution Providers, and me!

I want to take a minute to talk about how we recorded this on the spot video and show you how it relates so well to Method. A couple of weeks ago, while at Scaling New Heights, I met Dante in person after only knowing him through LinkedIn. Throughout the conference, Dante was recording various impromptu movies and publishing them on YouTube. When we finally got a chance to meet in person, he did an on the spot video of me. The device he was using was called “The Flip” and if you haven’t had a chance to play with one of these yet, I say it is definitely worth taking a look at. The device allows you to record videos and upload them to your computer or YouTube directly. While you might be able to do this with other equipment, what blew me away was how simple the device was.
- It is small (the size of an average cell phone) but nicely packaged.
- The buttons on the back are extremely simple yet effective with one big red button to record.
- When finished, you can quickly upload your video and charge the device using the integrated USB device.
- The Flip allows you to use your existing software, such as YouTube, to quickly publish your newly recorded videos.
“Nicely packaged”, “Simple yet effective”, “Integrated” and “Use your existing software”, sound like words I would use to describe Method as well. I guess this explains why it was love at first sight.
Now that we have “The Flip”, be on the lookout for the Method Team getting your thoughts on Method live!
Our next stop is Las Vegas, Nevada for the AICPA Tech Conference. Las Vegas holds a special place in my heart since we launched Method Beta there back in 2007. Viva Las Vegas!
Cheers,
