How do I synchronize CRM with QuickBooks? Method Integration Engine v1.0.191 update

Filed under: How do I synchronize CRM with QuickBooks?

Today you'll see a new Method Integration Engine (the synchronization manager that syncs QuickBooks with Method CRM).  Here are the changes:

  • QuickBooks Item Groups - big changes were made so that Item Groups can be added on Method and have the items in the group populate immediately rather than waiting for QuickBooks to deliver them.  In addition, the items within the group can be modified in Method before or after a sync and the changes will commit to QuickBooks.  Significant modifications had to be made to the Method Integration Engine to support this as the QuickBooks SDK is very limited on handling this on a single integration request.  Currently, only Estimates have this fully implemented, but more transactions will take advantage of this in coming weeks.
  • Bug fix: QuickBooks SalesReceipts and ReceivePayments that are deposited in QuickBooks, but then deleted from Method causing the sync engine to halt operation.  You would see that the activity on the sync engine has a message from QuickBooks "Did not delete this transaction.  This transaction had deposited payments".   We now look for this response and instead of halting the sync engine operation, send it to the QuickBooks > Resolve Conflicts area of Method.

How do you get this update?  It will download automatically in the next few days, but if you don't want to wait, (1) make sure the Method Integration Engine is shut down; (2) download and install the update here.
