Remove multiple customer/contact records

    Remove multiple customer/contact records

    Is there anyway short of deleting each contact individually to delete a group of contacts?  We imported a tremendous number of records from our previous CRM and would love to now make them "disappear" and replace them with better information.  If not, is it possible to "wipe" the entire contact table and start over?

    Hi Roger,

    Are you trying to delete contacts themselves or customers? When you imported which table did you import into?

    There is no quick and easy way to clear them short of deleting the ones you want to get rid of manually, you could create some actions that will loop through and delete contacts but I advise against it because if not setup correctly it could end up deleting data that you wish to keep.

    Let me provide some more details...I exported from Method the 'Contacts' table and someone went through and updated the 'Entity' and 'EntityRecordID' fields to "group" contacts that share the same shipping address (aka same customer).  Now I would like to import the updated contact records but I'm not sure this will replace the current contact records with the updated "Entity" information or just add the "new" contacts.

    I am also concerned that since Method was recently updated, the data may not transfer properly...any concern with that?

    Roger,

    This should work, what you can try doing though is to only try importing and updating a small set of records and if that works continue on and do the rest. The updates done to Method should have no affect on this.
