How to add a field to the Opportunities tab

For any Opportunity that I create, I designate an ID, a Formal name, and a nickname.

I can put the Formal name in the existing Name field on the Opportunites table.  I want to create a field to capture the ID and the nickname.  I know how to edit the table and add the fields, but I cannot figure out how to get them to show on the Tab.

I have created custom tables and edited the screen and the grid and the tab to show what I need - so I know what I need to do in this regard, but it seems that Opportunities is not working the same.

    JamesQ,

Once the fields are added to the Table you should be able to customize the Opportunity screen and drag the fields onto the screen from the panel on the left. Did you get as far as customizing the screen? If you did but you do not see the added fields you may still be using the old screen.

What is the name of the Opportunities screen that I need to edit?  I see "CRM_OpportunitiesList" - is that it?  Regardless, I cannot edit the screen because I only have Copy and View options for these screen:

    Answer

    JamesQ,

The screen you want to edit is CRM_EditOpportunity (The CRM_OpportunitesList is the screen that lists all the opportunities), to edit a screen you need to make a copy of it first, when making a copy you will have the option to point existing screen to the copied screen you are creating (Which in your case is probably the best option).
