Excluding deleted Work Orders from grid

How do you exclude deleted records from a grid created from scratch?  I have created a grid with Work Order information and the deleted records are showing up.

    JKM@SA,

What table is the grid based off of? If the record is deleted it should not show up in the grid.

It is based off of the Activity table.

Are you maybe cancelling the Work Orders instead of actually deleting them? If thats the case you can apply a filter to the grid to not show any Work Orders(Activities) with an Activity Status of 'Cancelled'

The work orders have been deleted using the delete button on the Existing Work Orders grid.  I cannot pull them up on that grid but I can pull them up on a new grid based on the activity table.

    Answer

    JKM@SA-

Could it be that you are not filtering the grid by Activity Type = Work Order so that it only shows Work Orders?

The Work Order grid has some filters on it already so it could be that these records are not meeting any of the filters so are not showing on the standard WO grid.

The deleted records that I am seeing are definitely Work Orders.

Another possible scenario is that if you may have deleted an occurance instead of the series or you deleted the series but the already modified occurances were left behind.(The RecurrenceType field will display the type of Work Order)

The only other thing I can suggest is scheduling some paid consulting time to go over this.

That was it - the occurrences were deleted but the series record was not.  If I have a series work order with 3 occurrences, should I be deleting all 3 occurrences and the series record (i.e. 4 deletions) or will deleting just the series record delete the occurrences associated with it?

If you delete the series it will delete all unmodified Work Orders, but anything that has already been modified or saved will have to be individually deleted.

Ok.  How/Where would a new user find this information?  How would a new user learn the proper way to delete these records?

I don't think there is much documentation on this at the moment but this is something that would be included in the Knowledge Base project we are working (More details on it will be released soon).
