Resetting Portal Passwords

Method portal users may forget or require their portal password be changed or reset from time-to-time. This can be done by the portal user or manually by a portal administrator or other Method user with appropriate rights to makes such changes.
In the event that a Method Portal user forgets his or her portal password or requires it be changed, they can click the 'Forgot Your Password?' link on the portal log in page. Once they have provided a valid email, the system will send a new temporary password starting with 'z9z' which forces the password to be changed on the next successful login.
If the portal passwords are being managed by a portal admin or other Method user with appropriate access and rights, the password field for the user can be changed to new password. It is strongly recommended new passwords start with 'z9z' as a added security layer forcing the portal user to change their password on the next successful login.
This applies to all portals regardless if they are standard or custom created portals.
