What is the Document Library?
Solution No. 183
The document library provides you with a central location to store all of your documents similar to a network drive. You also have the ability to create your own folders allowing you to properly organize and categorize your documents for easy access.
Storing documents in Method CRM
Documents stored in Method can be uploaded in three different ways.
Upload directly to Method - using Method’s native document upload you can upload documents up to 5MB in size. The following file formats are supported:
Link to an existing URL - you can copy and paste the web address of the document you’d like to upload. This is especially useful if you have documents that are larger than 5MB and can’t upload them directly into Method. For example:
- the location of a PDF on your website.
- an installation file.
- Google doc.
Upload to SmartVault - SmartVault provides an alternative to standard native upload in Method. SmartVault provides an intuitive, Web-based solution for users to store, view and share files securely any time and from anywhere. It also offers a unique plug-in for QuickBooks®, creating a seamless user experience for scanning, attaching, and finding documents within a familiar application. Taking advantage of document links
Document links are a great way to reuse documents that have already been uploaded into Method CRM. For example, if you have a sales presentation that you uploaded to the document library and later wanted to relate that same presentation to another customer, you can just create a new document link for that customer using the same sales presentation. This allows you to save on storage costs and if that document ever needs to be updated, you just update the original upload and the rest of the links are always current.
Each Method license provides you with 500MB of total storage capacity. This means if you have 3 licenses, your total storage capacity is 1.5GB. We are also working on ways for you to easily monitor this storage capacity from within your account.
