Add a New Opportunity

Opportunities are the backbone of our practice. Sometime opportunities come in the form of being able to sell a product and sometime the opportunities come in the form of being able to sell our services.

In NEXT we have split out the IRP Opportunities and our opportunities that we sell and change from firm to firm.

The IRP Opportunities is a specific defined drop down list. Intuit lets us sell specific product offerings and requires us to report back to them on those offerings with updates and states. NEXT allows you to have a direct link to the IRP Master when the reporting requirements are housed from Intuit.

The opportunities that differ from firm to firm are not pre-populated because one firm might use Consulting versus another might consider it Training, and all of us offer slightly different services for each of our clients. NEXT allows you to keep and maintain your own listing of your actual services provided and opportunity to sell to that client.

Adding An Opportunity

From the NEXT Desktop, click New Opportunity

You are able to enter in an opportunity for an existing client or for a new Client without leaving this screen.

Make sure to choose the Type of Opportunity, Estimated Close Date (Required), Stage and the Estimated Amount of the Engagement. The Short Description will automatically fill in with the ‘Company Name-Type’ so that you will know what it is just from the dashboard. The long description should contain all of the details of the opportunity.

When adding in the opportunity for the first time, make sure to add an activity that reflects your first conversation with the client or prospect that reflects how the opportunity came to be.
