Names in NEXT - Seeing Duplicates
Solution No. 26
The contact names that are pushed back and forth with QuickBooks and Method have a special designation. They are designated with the Type of “Contact” or “Alt Contact.” If the contact name in the QuickBooks “Contact” field changes, it will change all of the corresponding records in Method. In order to preserve the contact name to its appropriate records, in NEXT when the contact from QuickBooks is brought in, NEXT will create another contact and mark it as the primary contact. All of the associated support tickets, to-do’s, etc ., will be with the second contact of the same name and not the one that can be over ridden by QuickBooks.
So, if you go into the Method CRM portion of Method, you will see the QuickBooks contact listed twice. If you are going to work in the Method CRM as well as NEXT, then you will need to filter your contact list NOT to show the special type of contacts or show them on the report when picking a contact for an activity, opportunity, or Case.
