The New Activity screen is a dynamic tool that has many uses in Method CRM.  In fact, several of the tab links you'll see within your Activities tab pertain directly to the New Activity screen in unique ways: three of those tab links exist just to make your day-to-day operations easier!

The New Activity screen can be used to create a variety of different kinds of activities within Method CRM, but some of them are more common than others.  Based on our own research, and how we use Method day-to-day around our office, we've found the three most common activities to be assigning tasks, logging calls, and creating appointments.  That's why those tab links exist!

All three links, when clicked, will open the New Activity screen, with minor differences between them, and this is where the convenience factor comes in. 

  • The New Appointment tab link opens the screen with the Type field automatically set to "Meeting".

  • The New Task tab link opens the screen with the Type field automatically set to "To-do".

  • The Log Call tab link opens the screen with the Type field automatically set to "Phone call incoming".

These defaults have been set up because they make the most sense to most business owners, and it's a handy way of saving time when you're plowing through your daily activities list. Otherwise, all three of these screens have the exact same functionality as is described in the New activity screen section of this guide, so go take a look there for more information.
